Wild fires are very dangerous. They are considered a natural disaster. The most famous wild fire today is the Chicago wild fire. The Chicago fire spread through all of Chicago killing many people and burning down hundreds of thousands of homes. Today a new epidemic such as that one is happening. In southern California a horrible fire is going on. Now over 500,000 people have been affected by this tragedy. Yes even celebrities are affected by this incident. California fires affect 500,000 is the title of the article.
In the article it talks about how the government was slow to respond to the last crisis in the U.S. It talks about how poorly we handled hurricane Katrina. Can the U.S. handle this situation differently? It is very different from a hurricane unlike the hurricane that eventually stops a fire will go on and on until something puts the blaze out. Especially with all the tinder and dry wood on the ground due to California’s heat wave from last summer can we stop the fire before it goes to our of control.
This relates to me because I have about 6 myspace friends who live in California. This fire has Already affected one of them. John and his family were evacuated from their home in California. He did not tell me if any of his material possessions have been lost. This affects the world because it will obviously cost tax payers a lot of money to fix the damage that is done. This is horrible event that has destroyed so much beauty and nature.

Sean, good job on your presentation. You seemed to know your information very well so you didn't have to look at your notes very much. You also did well relating the articles to yourself and explaining the articles.

Sean! Good job talking about your atricles. I agree with you that wild fires are very sad. Thats horrible that that man had to be evacuated and he lost all of the Civil War artifacts. I also agree with you that it took a long time for the government to get to the Katrina victims. I also think it's insane how the Rockies got to the World Series. I agree with you that people should have gotten the tickets the old fashioned way. I don't agree with you that Myspace is dangerous. Because people who make themseleves as young as it goes, then you can't see their profile, and I have never seen a kid with their home phone number or adress on their myspace. I think people should at least be 12 to get a myspace. Good job!

I like how you compared the fire disaster to the chicago disaster. I also liked how you told us about your friend and tried to get us to help out. You didnt even need your paper and you did a good job at eye contact. I really liked how you told us that myspace has blocked alot sex offenders but it is still unsafe because my parents wont allow me to have a myspace because they think that it is very unsafe. You have some of the same veiws as my parents. I liked the humor that you put into it. Very good job!
Sean, good job. But when you related about how hurricane Katrina and how the govrnment didnt respond to the action, it really offended me because 3days after the hurricane my dad was sent down to New Orleans for 2 years, and the company he works for alone spent 50million dollors, and the govrnment spent 4 times that. So i have to disagree that the govrnment didnt handle the hurricane well. I've been there and they handled it very well. Besides that good job.
